This being the new restaurant in the area we decided to try it out on Friday night. The decor is beautiful, very neutral and contemporary. There was a 20 minute wait so we took a seat at the bar and had a drink, the woman behind the bar was extremely nice and made lots of good suggestions. When we were sat into a booth the server was nice as well. Lets just say the service was the only good part of this dining experience. I got the pasta with spinach tomatoes and blush sauce, my friend got the burger with truffle fries. The pasta was tasteless although it was a "favorite and highly recommend by the server" the Burger was decent but very much over cooked, served with their " wonderful" zip sauce....lets just say redcoat and lelli's has them beat all around in this department, fries were the only thing worth having again. Staff did keep waters filled and silverware clean. I doubt I will be coming back anytime soon, there was just nothing that I could say I loved here or that intrigued me the smallest bit.

My wife and I just celebrated our wedding anniversary there and had a lovely and excellent dinner. We had a couple of hor'doers at the bar during happy hour before dinner and they were excellent. Bar service was not great, but ok. For dinner my Cesar salad was delicious and different than most places, served as a tower with a piece of fried cheese on top. Very tasty. The presentation on all the food was very nice. My main course, sea bass was outstanding. My wife's sampler platter she thoroughly enjoyed. Everything was prepared the way we liked. Service was good and would go back again.

Not being from the area, I did a Yelp search to find a place for dinner. The price didn't scare us...but the amount of truffles on the menu sure did! I don't know if the food was just too "gourmet" for my pallet for it wasn't the Steakhouse I was hoping for. It seemed like a trendy place for a girls night out, not a family looking for a great steak. The patio was in the parking lot of a strip-mall & the only redeeming quality was the parade of BMW's, Mercedes, Land Rovers and Bentleys. My hubby enjoyed that....

Had a chance to visit Prime29 again and was very glad to see this place flourishing. It was a very busy Saturday so thankfully we made reservations on Open Table and didn't have to wait for our table. Prompt and attentive service made us feel really welcome and servers are very sharp on their food and bev knowledge. Food was incredible. The calamari was the perfect balance of crispiness and had hot peppers mixed in for a very interesting touch. The ahi app is the freshest I may have ever sampled, it has a guac blend under it which compliments the tuna. The chop salad is great and the dressing used is just the right flavor for the mix of ingredients within the plate. Gotta love the complimentary intermezzo sorbet for a palette cleanser before entrees! For entree I had the lamb chops...pure bliss. Zip sauce was awesome with them but not really needed as the quality of the cuts were top notch. One friend had the New York strip and said the same about the quality and another friend had the Prime burger saying it was the best burger he has had in the area. Dessert was the Oreos with vanilla bean ice cream and they were perfect just like the first time I had them. This place is beautiful and really doing it right! Kudos.

Tried the filet slider while at arts, beats, and eats. Even though they had to serve it well done, it was delicious. Very moist and flavorful. I will have to visit the restaurant now.

Prime 29 - There's nothing more to say but absolutely Delicious, romantic and chic! Firstly, there is no restaurant in town that will open the doors for you when you walk in anymore - Yes, they do! I had met up with another group of friends that were already seated, but I was escorted promptly to where they were sitting. Secondly, the seating - is like walking into Restoration Hardware! I swear, the benches had really good padded leather seating that allowed us to just sit there for hours - that's really important. Thirdly, the food was just the best that I've had in a long time. Sophisticated, great portions, and just SO GOOD! The customer service also was top notch! As utensils were used and taken away, an assigned server that seemed to know exactly what we had ordered, places new utensils accordingly to your order when she saw that you were needing them! WHAT IN THE WORLD! - that was amazing. I really felt the new york/san fransisco vibe for sure! Okay food - oysters must have!!! SO GOOD! Calamari - absolutely delicious! the prime rib - the most tender piece of beef ever. The caesar salad had this most amazing reduced sweet onion side that made it like SO AWESOME! Gah! so good - OH. The dessert? goodness... Heaven. Everything was really good - if it was anything negative to say, it was that there was like no room to move. You can literally turn your head and talk to the person next to you at the bar area. But hey! what an experience. I'll be back soon! Man a steak sounds good right now!

If you are a foody, skip it. Our beautiful, aged 29 days, slice of perfect beef was destroyed by whatever random kid they rescued from being a line cook at Applebees. We ordered med-rare. We got Med-well. Slightly burnt on the outside and underseasoned. I am not really sure how else you can ruin a steak. The brussel sprouts are boiled and smothered in Hoisin sauce. Seriously. The asparagus on my plate was really just an expensive garnish with no attention paid to it at all. The single best bite of food there were the Truffle fries (which they forgot the truffle oil on). $200 dinner a bust. Sad.

Prime29 Steakhouse combines incredible cuts of PRIME beef (make sure you try the 16 oz rib eye!!!), an inviting ambiance with a lush contemporary design and excellent service. I look forward to many dining and social experiences at Prime29 Steakhouse. This is truly the finest contemporary steakhouse in metro Detroit. When you order dessert...make sure you get some Illy's coffee with the Fried Oreos. This place is impressive and well priced for the experience. FANTASTIC!!!

Our group of 4 women celebrated a birthday here on Monday night. We had great food and great service. Tuna pizza and tuna tacos are incredible! Wonderful and unusual Caesar salad! The surprise birthday donuts (carrot cake and creamed cheese filled) were the best dessert!

it's ok but not somewhere hooks you with its food. we went there for out house moving party and ordered pretty much every entree and side. their steak is average and the saw fish was cold in the middle since it wasn't defrosted enough. service is good but very slow. for the price, there are better choice with more creative style and farm/organic food.

We had dinner on Saturday night on 5/4/2013. When we got to desert we found a bug on the plate. Just a disgusting experience! We talked to the waiter, showed him the bug, and he starts to make a joke telling us "This bug was not inviting to our party". When I told him it wasn't funny, he offered us a replacement for that desert. I will never eat there again! The experience was just stomach turning. In this situation, should I call the Health Department?

I am loving this new steakhouse, a rare comment from me on a restaurant of this genre. I generally am less than impressed with a constant lack of creativity in the classic menus of steakhouses. I must say, Prime 29 has somehow won me over. Perhaps it is the geographical conveinience of the plaza in which it is located, or maybe the stunning patio crowned with a dazzling linear fireplace, hey- it could also be the food. Let's start by saying that as it is with most restaurants, not every item on the menu is stellar. The tilapia was so so, the chicken was also close to sub par. The standouts for me have been the lobster tail, served with an unbelievable potato purée, roasted carrot and asparagus, a truffled risotto cake and a beautiful vanilla buerre blanc; the filet, which was cooked just as I asked (med rare); the deep fried Oreos. Let's talk about these deep fried Oreos for awhile.... Geesh! So I have been on a diet for what seems like my entire life. This is because I love food so much, that if I don't apply psychological trickery in the form of restrictive eating practices, I will be hugely fat, which is not my thing. At one point in the recent past, I had decided to get lipo in an effort to do what I am too lazy to do in the gym. After some serious thought, I had come to the conclusion that plastic surgey was, for me, spiritually wrong. In addition, removing fat cells disturbs the Endocrine system, a pretty serious machine. However, after eating the food porn that are the deep fried Oreos, I've actually reconsidered the lipo. It may be worth it-and nessacary-if I can eat these a few times a week, err, uhh, I mean a few times a month. I admit that I have a very high threshold for rich foods, -I can easily eat an entire block of chocolate fudge with out flinching- but I think that the richness of the deep fried oreos is easily conquered by any determined patron. I'm telling you, P29 is NOT fucking around with these, seriously. Ok, so now you know how I feel about the food.... The service is also very good here. I have enjoyed several different service providers, all of whom have been friendly, prompt, informative and accommodating. One gentleman stood out as my favorite, he was full of fun little stories and anecdotes. It didn't hurt that he was clearly a liberal, a big bonus in the conversation department. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the seating is spacious and comfy. The lighting in the restaurant and bathroom is flattering, a very important factor. Overall, I think it's clear that I recommend Prime 29, and the deep fried Oreos. Enjoy!

I called prior to coming to the restaurant to ensure that there were items on the menu that were gluten free. I was told that the salmon bites were gluten free. When I ordered I checked again with the bartender and she checked with the kitchen and I was assured that they were gluten free and I ordered them. When I received them they had a brown sauce that I thought might have soy sauce in it so I asked again and was told that they make the sauce themselves and it has no soy sauce. I ate most of the dish and decided to check to see if I could taste my husbands polenta and shrimp and I was told no that that had Hoison sauce in it I asked to talk to the manager who assured us that it was not gluten free and that she would check with the kitchen to make sure that the salmon was. The bartender, not the manager, came back to tell me to stop eating the salmon (I was most of the way done) because they do put in a little bit of teriyaki sauce that does have wheat. Please avoid because I do not think they know how to take food allergies seriously!

Although the food is good to very good, the service was fair to poor. Imagine dirty dishes being stacked on your table, not once, but twice, by the waiter. The manager came by to ask " How was your entree? " and left before anyone had a chance to answer.

We have been here 4 times now and the first 3 times were exquisite. Service was tremendous, food presented beautifully, great wine selection and the appetizers, seafood and steaks were top notch. I generally tell friends that this place has the quality of a Capital Grille w/out the pretension. We took four of our friends on Sunday night to "show off" our new find. Sunday night is their Prime Rib night that they advertise as their prominent feature. I ordered the Veal Osso Bucco which was extremely tender and juicy -- great selection. A few of our party ordered the Sea Bass which was out of this world. However, the 4 people who ordered the Prime Rib (all ordered medium rare) were brought out cuts that were medium well to well. When we told the waiter, he told us it would take about 10 minutes to get a new cut. Only one of our party took him up on this, as the others didn't want to wait. A manager then came back out and told us that since the prime rib is a roast, the selections that were provided were the rarest cuts still available (note that our reservation was at 7pm and the place was virtually empty -- not like there was a mad rush on all of the Sunday night special!). Instead, the person in our party ordered a filet which was prepared impeccably and was very favorable (of course, this did take about 10 minutes to create again -- in the meantime, they had also taken all of her sides, so she sat w/nothing as the rest of us ate). Although this will not prevent me from coming back again, I will be very reluctant to go on a Sunday night and order the prime rib. They have been open long enough to have this type of thing sorted out. I can't really provide any review on the prime rib, as it was not made to the liking of anyone in our party -- they just ate it anyway. So if you go and want prime rib, make damn sure they have some available cooked to the temperature that you desire.

Let me start by saying that this was one of my WORST experiences at a restaurant of this price range. My husband and I ate here for valentines day and I wish we had went somewhere else. When we walked in the hostess took us to 3 different tables because she was confused about where she wanted to sit us, so we finally ended up at a booth. The waitress came at our table and didn't even introduce herself, but started out by asking what we wanted to eat and without us even looking at the menu. So after we told her we needed a minute she took her time and came back after about 15 minutes. I wanted to order the Surf and Turf but was told they were out of lobster tails. So then I said ill get the 8oz filet, and was told they were out of filets as well. There was about 2 things available which was the New York Strip and the Ribeye, so that is what we ordered. They brought dinner rolls with before our meals, not regular bread but sweet dinner rolls. The steaks were good, but other than that this place had nothing going. It was so loud from the bar area we couldn't even talk to each other. Our waitress never came by us to ask us how the food was, or ask us to order dessert so we did not have dessert. We actually had to wait 30 minutes for the waitress to come bring our bill. Just don't waste your time or money going there.

Oysters Rockefeller weren't good, Caesar salad was poor, steak was decent, sides were good. Many better steakhouses in the area in this price range. Very over-priced for only an ok meal/experience.

Tried out this place for my husband's bday dinner with our 2 little boys. Booked a reservation at 7pm through yelp features...so nice. Mentioned it's for his bday. First, the decor, and everything tells me it's super fancy. Which is fine but I don't really think it's kid friendly. We sat in a booth, which is nice and helpful having tots. However, service was so slow!! We ordered a filet mignon, calamari (interesting with fried jalapeño slices), mussels and clams (so good), ahi tuna tartar (lacking in soy sauce and tuna did taste super fresh), also Mac n cheese, truffle corn, truffle fries for the kids. Truffle flavor was pretty overpowering the actual taste of everything but with the fries they were good. My littlest one did enjoy the Mac n cheese or corn but he loved the calamari and fries. It took forever for them to bring us drinks which they apologize for. Idk what the delay was when I clearly heard my martini being shaken at the bar. Then food, really? You see I have little ones and yet you bring out food for the grown ups first?? We've been to Eddie Merlot and the dining concept is the same as this place however, food was way better than here at the same $200+ price. Oh and super better service. We were nervous about the place when their parking lot was so dead. Now I know why. We won't be back.

I'll start out with a positive - the truffle fries were great. In sum, overpriced (and I don't mind paying for good food) and under delivered. I had the strip - asked for it medium, it came out pretty close to well done. I'm not a fan of wasting food so I did not send it back, but did tell the waiter it was overcooked. My dining companion had the ribeye - his verdict, meh. He also ordered the lobster bisque - I would say it's more of a soup consistency, not much cream. Both pieces of meat were not seasoned. There was a bit of char on each of our steaks, but it did nothing to bring out any flavor in the meat. Let's move on to the service... Our waiter kept referring to me as "young lady" and "madame" - mmm, I'm pushing 40. By checking in on yelp you get a coupon for 1/2 off some glasses of wine and bottles. When I showed it to the waiter he said "that really doesn't work, there are some happy hour wine specials but that coupon is mostly just for bottles." ...ok, not going to push the issue. The most awkward moment of the meal came when the manager stopped by to see how we were doing - he started by rearranging everything on our table to his liking - our bread basket, my wine class, my knife ... very bizarre. I really don't like giving 1 star, but, just couldn't justify 2. I could have gone to the grocer next store, purchased a $100 bottle of wine, 2 very good steaks and had a much better meal and experience at home for the same price.

I would like to start off by saying the first time it opened up, I think they were getting situated because I recently went for a second time on Valentine's Day and it was such a great time. I had the oysters and a berry beverage... Both amazing. Calamari was delicious as well as the salad and sea food. The waiter was awesome, had a great memory and provided perfect customer service. I would definitely recommend!

I came here last night with a friend. Upon entering, I noticed the swanky, contemporary decor. I really liked the ambiance. We got a booth and our waitress was very friendly and prompt. I ordered the Sparkling Lemon Drop to drink. It was quite the show. They bring over a martini glass with vodka, rimmed with sugar. The vodka is lit on fire and the sugar caramelizes on the rim. Then the remainder of the drink is poured into the glass. It was strong and had a good lemon flavor. To eat, I chose the lobster bisque and the Atlantic Salmon. Both were very delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce had a great flavor. We also had the pleasure of a bit of entertainment with dinner as there was a birthday party across from us. Ten ladies had obviously been drinking heavily before they arrived and were making quite the scene. I think the staff did an excellent job at crowd control and not getting annoyed. Hats off to them.

First time back sense it was bar 7 and I believe they did an amazing job with the remodel for the space. Started with the lamb chops, oysters and tuna tacos. All were good. Had a filet for dinner and it was good. Didn't seem like it was out of this world expensive but it's not mcdonalds so I don't know why someone would come to a place like this and be in sticker shock. Had fried Oreos for dessert courtesy of the house. Will return on another date night.

Service was horrible. Food was horrible and overpriced. Place had a fishy smell to it which makes me question the quality of food. Asked to speak to a manager about the rude hostess and lo and behold the hostess was the manager! Hostess seated other people before us even though she clearly saw we had walked in first. She also would walk by and stare at us for no apparent reason. Felt like we were being looked down upon cuz we were not dressed to the nines. Never been treated this way and stared at so rudely before. Made the meal uncomfortable and even more disappointing than it already was. Not a way to run a restaurant. Will not be going back if my life depended on it. PS: I'm almost positive a bunch of these 5 star reviews are fake. Just sayin.

We went to prime 29 with the family last night for my mothers 50th birthday. We had a couple people in our group (me included) who've never dined here before but the ones who've visited really enjoyed it. We started off with the oysters Rockefeller and calimari - which I would highly reccomend! Super tasty and very tender-no rubber band rings for the calimari yayy! Everyone loved their food but my only complaint would be our waitress. I found her to be kind of rude and condescending. I am a trained and practicing chef so I'm very educated on what certain things are and different flavor profiles ect. My sister simply asked if their salmon was fishy because as sad as it is some places don't get their food from reputable scorces/ fish isn't fresh/ preparation isn't that great thus creating a fishy fish- her reply was "no seafood should ever be fishy" well no shit. My brother in law asked what wagu was (it's the equivalent to American version of Kobe beef) and that's exactly what she said but she added " I'm not sure if you know what that is. They feed the cows beer and massage them... To be honest, for the price you're paying ($400 not including tip!!) I don't appreciate bitchy replies to simple questions. If someone doesn't know educate them don't be rude! Long story short, good food but rude staff

Both food and service are top notch. I couldn't say that when they first opened but after we gave them a second chance, the food was great. We've been back many times (happy hour is a bargain with a nice selection) and have never had a bad meal. We find it much better and more personable than what the chain steakhouse restaurants offer.

This was the 2nd time I ate here in a couple months. Although the first time was good (on a week-day) the service last night was a disappointment.. Our party of 4 arrived on time for our had a reservation for 7;30. It took a long time for someone to actually take our orders, and then once we did order, our main entrees arrived after 9pm.. The soup was excellent, same as last time. Once we finally got our orders no-one came by to check on how everything was. Our entrees were just ok- and certainly not worth the long wait. We will not be returning.

What a beautiful spot, filled with some darn good looking people! Food also tastes as good as it looks. Caesar Salad was delicate, Ahi Tuna appetizer also great quality, although a little messy to eat. Sea bass also perfectly prepared and delicious. We had to wait nearly an hour for our 8PM reservation, which was disapointing, but we did get a complimentary dessert platter to win us over. Notable wine list (and fabulous wine glasses!) and enough variety on the menu to please all pallettes. Only other negative thing I can say is, I was surpirsed that the server was not more apologetic when we were finally seated - he seemed a bit overwhelmed. Over all - this place is a gem - Hope to go back in the warmer months and enjoy the outdoor firepit seating area.

I've been to Prime 4 times now. Now I know better than to judge a restaurant in the first couple months of opening but sometimes you can't shake off a bad experience. I'm happy that I gave it a couple more chances after the first 2 disappointing experiences. Great food, cocktails and wine list. Pros: Chic and beautiful atmosphere. Reminiscent of Miami but not pretentious. Nice patio with fireplace (if you don't mind being in a parking lot) Great food if you know what to order The burger is ridiculously good. Dare I say better than 24 Grille and even Red Coat Tavern The Chilean sea bass is delicious. Steaks are dry aged for 29 days providing intense flavor Ahi tuna appetizers is delicious. The Passion fruit chili martini- my new favorite cocktail Impressive wine list Cons: For starters, the service is hit or miss. I was with a party of 12 people when it took a full 45 minutes to even get menus let alone order. Only after having a word with manager did we finally get decent service. Again with service- the timing of dishes. When the entire table gets their entrees at staggered times and the last one finally gets their food when the rest of the party has already finished up, or still getting apps when entrees have already been set on the table. No bueno. Inconsistent dishes. I dine with foodies. We love to order too much and pass plates so that we can try everything. How is it that the same dish ordered on 4 different occasions was different each time?? All in all- Although a couple servers are top notch and attentive (I really wish I knew their names!) , the service still needs improvement overall as does the consistency of the dishes. I have had 2 fantastic meals that really stood out and 2 that I didn't even take home for the dog but after my last two positive experiences I will definitely go back.

My husband and I ate here on Saturday. I have read there reviews which got me to decide we had to try this place. When we got there we were greeted by a very nice hostess. The place was packed and we did not have a reservation so we had to wait to be seated for about 10 minutes. We decided to sit at the bar for a drink. The bar was like a real cool hip lounge that should be in Manhattan. I had a incredible martini called the berry fiz. It was excellent. My hubby had his normal grey goose on the rocks. I must say they practice generous poors of alcohol. When we were seated they got us a nice table for two in this really cool dining room that again felt like I was at a real hip place in Manhattan, I literally felt like I was out of town. There servers immediately jumped on my table which was a nice start. Our server made some appetizer recommendations which we took him up on. We had the tuna tar tar which was probably the best we have ever had. We also had the calamari which had peppers in them that gave them an awesome flavor to them. I have read this place had awesome sea food as well as steaks so i ordered the sea bass and my hubby ordered the filet. My sea bass Tasted like candy it was solo good I kid you not u have to try it. My husband loved his filet it was cooked to perfection and I didn't have to deal with him sending his steak back because of wrong temp yay. For dessert we had to try there fried Oreos OMG, those things are crazy. They were so good. Overall I rate this place as probably one of best places for food and service. I am very happy we finally made it in and will definitely be back. This time for a girls night out since I have been telling all of my friends about our experience they all want to try it out as well. . Can't wait.

Service was not great. We had a reservation on a Wednesday night, the restaurant was less than half full. Took 20 minutes to get our first drink, service all night was pretty slow and inattentive. Food was good, but at that price point I expect a much better overall experience.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary months ago and were disappointed. It has the makings of a very nice steak restaurant but the food was just average for the expensive price. The service was mediocre at best. We wanted to enjoy our anniversary meal but felt rushed. And they didn't even acknowledge the fact that it was our anniversary even though I told them it was when I called. So we won't be going there again.

Overly sweet. Weird flavor combinations. Overpriced for what it actually is. I was seriously expecting a decent, if not great meal but honestly it was horribly disappointing. The best part was the free fried cake dessert they gave us because my boyfriend's mom told the waiter it was his birthday. We wanted to try this place to see what it was all about. Oh well. Our steaks were nothing special. They came with this strange caramel gravy dipping sauce that was completely unremarkable and overly sweet. The service was pretty good, and the atmosphere was pretty swanky but honestly I feel like this is one of those places where people go just for the novelty of going. I wanted to like it but the food really was just not good. The truffle fries were baseline just not good fries, and I didn't taste any truffle on them. The Brussels sprouts were covered in a cloying, thick hoisin-y sauce which probably would have been better suited to an Americanized Chinese restaurant. I know I sound like a total douche-y snob writing this review; but the food really was pretty unremarkable. If you don't believe me, try it for yourself. If you have absolutely no taste and/or are a million years old and your taste buds are shot maybe this place is for you.

I love the ambience and decor of this restaurant. They even have a little room upfront for a larger private party like up to 12 people or so. The ahi tuna appetizer is amazing. I had the crab legs dinner last time and it was great my husband had the lobster and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Both times we've been here the food has been pretty great, as has the service. We will be back.

Service is excellent, I ordered the 16 oz ribeye steak, the best steak I've ever had. A bit pricey but it's worth every penny. The atmosphere is perfect for a date or a group. Don't forget to tip ! Haha

Husband brought me here for my birthday yesterday. I got the filet and a side of mac n cheese, he got a burger w truffle fries. We also got the crab cakes as an app. Everything was delicious, but the star of the show was definitely the burger. Best burger I've ever had, hands down. Prime 29 offers halal meats for an upcharge, which I appreciated. Service was excellent. The food isn't cheap but it is definitely quality. This is a great place to come for a special occasion/ more upscale date night. At the the end of our meal, which we didn't finish bc the portions are very fair, our waiter brought us out a complimentary birthday dessert which was delicious and we were able to take a few bites out of even though we were stuffed. I believe it was fried carrot cake bites with a cream cheese coconut icing. Overall, great food, great service, and great atmosphere.

Discovered this place earlier this year. Been here twice now. Took the wife here for her birthday yesterday. If I tried to find something wrong here I could not. I want to complain about how expensive it is to dine here but everything was just too perfect. Exceptional service. Food was cooked to perfection. Everything from the appetizers to the main courses were just awesome. We had the Ahi Tuna Crisp as an app and Salmon and what they call "Organic chicken" for main dishes. Again I can't find anything negative here. High end place. Dim lighting. Great for special occasions.

This is my second time at Prime and I'm just blown away. From service, to appetizers, dinner, desert I have yet to be disappointed. Based off what I have ate so for I recommend the following: Appetizers: Fried jalapeño Calamari- Comes with this amazing sauce Crab Cakes - two large pieces Spinach Dip Meals Burger and fries - HIGHLY a recommended Cajon Chicken Pasta- I replaced the chicken with shrimp and it was amazing! Scallops over risotto and mushroom( this was a special that was made three weeks prior however the chef was kind enough to remake it for me and I have NEVER a ate a seafood dish that tasty) Last but not least DESERT! Fried carrot cake over cheesecake cream- I'm not a desert kind of gal but I promise u this was worth every single bite!!! I highly recommend this place for obviously more reasons then one!

I took my boyfriend here for a birthday dinner a few weeks ago. The ambiance and decor is very modern and upscale, with a nice bar and outdoor dining patio. Our appetizers were delicious! We ordered the truffle fries and crab cakes. However, I don't think either one of us were particularly wowed by the main courses. I ordered the quail and he ordered a steak, cooked medium-well, which ended up being well done...so done that it was dry, unfortunately. Also, the side of shrimp he ordered did not arrive with his meal...we had to remind our waitress. I'd come back for happy hour and appetizers, but not so much for the entrées.

We went here for my dad's birthday and the food/service was absolutely amazing. Each bite was full of flavor. I had the pleasure of getting appetizers, an entree, & the fried dessert! Definitely bring your pocket books, but it's worth every penny!

The filet mignon was outstandingly executed, and the zip sauce great. Nice wine list. The cesar salad came with an impressive presentation: a parmesan cheese bowl held the letttuce. Once i dug in, found the cesar dressing depressingly bland and tasteless. The mushroom & cheese crostini was superior. For dessert, the creme brulee was very meh and shallow. So come for the steak & wine, and be prepared for hit'n'miss appetizers. The decor was another highlight.

Phenomenal experience !!!!! Spot on service , very very clean atmosphere and sexy. The food is pricey but no worries have a couple or 5 glasses of there wonderful wine selection money you forget about what your spending. We ordered multiple appetizers and loved the Oysters and Tuna yummy. Our entrées came out in perfect coordination giving us enough time to finish our appetizers and still have a moment have anouther glass of wine before our main courses. None of us tried dessert because we were all full. Worth the money 5 stars all the way across the board

When I think date night, I think prime 29. This place is awesome!!! The ambiance is great and so is the food. They have the best oysters in the area. I love the oysters!! The calamari is great and drinks are always strong. Great to find a place not cheap on their alcohol. The deep fried Oreos, I couldn't brag about enough. I had my daughters baptism here and they hosted the party perfectly in a private room. This place is worth every single penny for parties. All my guest were so pleased which pleased me!

Prime 29 has taken up permanent residence on the list of restaurants I have no desire to ever step foot in again. Congratulations? A friend and I go (went) here regularly for happy hour. We love(d) it - the house wine is great, the bar menu is small but has tasty eats, the building itself is beautiful. This past Friday we decided to make another triumphant return to happy-up our Friday, which had been pretty dismal and really needed some happying-up. We arrived to a bar area that wasn't packed even a little bit (around 5p) - the bar itself was about half full and 2 of the 4 high tops had people at them. One of the hightops already had a table full of food and drinks, and the other had just ordered when we were sitting down. I thought to myself "Excellent! We will have no problem getting wine into our hands with this place half empty and everyone else having already ordered!" WRONG. We took one of the high tops, ready to order at least wine without looking at the menu. 10 minutes later, the waiter comes over and asks if we want happy hour or regular menu. We say happy hour. He drops a menu on the table, turns on his heels, and peels out of there. Ok, we will share a menu, but why the running away? He comes back a few minutes later, drops a second menu, says nothing, heel turn, peels away. I am trying to get his attention to 1. order drinks and 2. ask a question about something new on the menu. He keeps on truckin' away. We wait another 5-10 minutes and decide to go sit at the bar so we can order our wine. The bartender asks why we moved, so I said that I couldn't get our waiter's attention and we were already 20 minutes in, as one of three of his tables, without having been able to order anything or ask a question. I think that we will now be able to order our drinks and eats. WRONG. The bartender offers his apology, says he's sure the waiter was coming back soon, then goes off to the side of the bar and starts cutting up lemons, and still no one wants to take our order? Another five minutes later, I raised my hand and ask who we order from (at this point we are two of four people total sitting at the bar). The bartender (who I will say is very friendly, just seems a little frazzled) came back around, we ordered our wine, and then had to flag him down again to order the food. Finally - a half hour into being there and we have our food/drinks ordered! I'm thinking maybe we can get this happying-up train back on track. WRONG. The waiter who we originally had that kept dropping stuff at the table and running away comes around to where the bartender is cutting up the lemons. This is 5-6 feet away from my friend and I. He starts bitching about us, very loudly, while pointing at us and saying things like "absolutely ridiculous" and "I had JUST set down the menus." Unfortunately, the waiter forgot to wear his cloak of invisibility while doing this, so we could see and hear him from our chairs nearly an arm's reach away (and a cloak of invisibility wouldn't have made his voice inaudible so it's utility really is questionable, but I digress). The bartender tells him to shut it down, let it go, and get back to work. Excellent advice, good sir, and I think the awkwardness of this situation has come to an end. WRONG. Does the smarmy waiter take this advice? Oh, hell no! He continues loudly berating us to the bartender while pointing at us and flailing his arms about. I flag a bus boy down and ask him if he could relay a message to the waiter/bartender that they might want to move it down the hallway if there's going to be a patron bash-fest in the mostly empty and thus relatively quiet bar area. The bartender tries to drag the waiter down the hallway away from us, but the waiter (who the bus boy guy told me is named Elvis), is having none of it. Alas - if he moves farther down the hallway, we might not be in earshot, and this would thwart his plans to let us know how outraged he is at us for moving from a table in his section after getting zero service for 20 minutes in a not even a little bit busy bar. When it becomes clear that the waiter will not end his tirade until we leave, my friend and I decide to call it quits on this debacle of a happy hour and head up the road to Crispelli's. The bartender yelled from partially down the hallway, still trying to get the waiter to stop his temper-tantrum, that the wine is on him. Thanks, but we aren't going to sit there and finish the $5 wine while getting passively-aggressively yelled at/about. I called the restaurant from the parking lot to talk to a manager, but after being on hold for 5 minutes, my desire to continue our happying-up plan at Crispelli's won out and I hung up. p.s. The staff at Crispelli's is super friendly and helpful and their delish pizza/gelato/wine helped us with our happying-up! Also, no one yelled at/about us there!

Wowie!! Been meaning to try this place since they opened 2 years ago & finally did last night. Wowie! Don't know what took us - I think we felt it was a bit too "hip" for us, but I guess that was the previous bar in this strip mall spot. Don't let that fool you! Wonderfully intimate ambience with a bar side featuring live cocktail piano & singer doing mostly standards - quite good!! The kale salad was SUPERB & both of our steaks were done to perfection - medium rare filet for my wife, Pittsburgh style NY strip for me. She enjoyed her sweet potatoes as well. It was my birthday & our waitress brought a dessert to die for - I never eat desserts - but this concoction was a carrot cake somehow deep fried in donut hole breading, drizzled with cream cheese frosting, dark chocolate & raspberry. Yikes!! Did I remember to say wowie? Only downside was the wine pricing. Chateau Michelle cab - $14 bottle at grocery store - $65 here. C'mon, man. And we opted for a $95 bottle of Groth, which I'm thinking is about $23-25 at the store. But it WAS my birthday, so we went with it. Cocktails instead next time!

This place is simply excellent. I have been several times and have not had a bad bite yet. The steak is amazing, the prime rib sunday special equally so. The lamb is also excellent. I love the affogato, and the creme brûlée. The decor is beautiful and the service is truly excellent. It is pricey but completely worth it.

Burgers and filet migon were cooked to perfection. Chocolate lava cake melts in your mouth! Shannon was our waitress super friendly and took great care of us! Michael is the manager at prime29, he made our evening! My son wanted chocolate ice cream and Michael made it happen! :) ps.. I love how consistent they are with food and service!

I was really looking forward to dining here but my dining experience was so very bad. The service was terrible at no time did the waiter ask if everything was ok or even come back to the table except to bring us the bill. We were done eating for over thirty minutes waiting on our bill. The food was ok nothing to brag about pretty much the exact opposite the prices are ridiculous for the quality of food.

I have to say I was blown away by Prime29! The decor and interior design is sleek and sexy! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable! And it was great to have a someone come by with every course to make sure we had fresh utensils! We ordered several appetizers! Love love love the oyster rockefellars which were amazing. The lobster bisque to die for. And yes. I got the burger!!!!! It's hands down the best burger ever!!!! Now I tried the steak and lobster as well and I was definitely impressed!!! Bravo Prime29!!! You guys rock! We will most definitely be back very soon!!!

Was there again last night. The place was jamming. I was so happy to see our local steak house kicking butt. We got there around 830 for our 830 res however they were so busy we didn't get seated on time but I understand as they were real busy. I ordered something different this time it was the sizzling filet. OMG it was amazing. The meat was so tender, juicy and it was sizzling with vegetables. My wife had the sea bass (again) she loved it as always. Our friends had the salmon sauté and the tomahawk rib eye (WOW) was that thing huge. They both loved there food. We also ordered fried lobster as an appetizer and it was unreal. We had the truffle corn and the 5 mad Mac and cheese as our sides. The truffle mad was incredible and the Mac was good as well. For dessert we had listen to this.....fried Carrot cake truffles. They were the most amazing thing I have ever tasted lol. Seriously they were great you should try them for your self. And of course we had to order the famous fried oreo's which were out of this world. Gym gym gym and watching my calories all week lol. But it was well worth it can't wait to go again in a few weeks. Hope this helps.

Apparently catching up with old friends before diving into the menu is a luxury not afforded at Prime29. Our server rushed us from the moment we sat down. Drinks, apps, and salads came out quickly, but we waited at least a half an hour for our main courses. Two out of three steaks ordered came overdone, so we sent them back IMMEDIATELY. The manager, Derrick, approached our table, we assumed to apologize for the error, but instead told us that although we had let our steaks sit for 15 minutes before we told our server, they were being remade. So there were no apologies, just finger pointing. I called Derrick the next day, but he was just as unprofessional as he had been the night before, this time pointing the finger at his own superior.

I must say I was extremely disappointed with this place. We ate inside and the place itself seemed very small, like we were on top of the other tables. There was a large party seated next to us that they moved the tables around for, and twice the waitress bumped into me while walking back and forth. Beyond that the food itself I just have to say was disappointing for the price. I ordered the 8 ounce filet mignon which was good but pricey considering that is all you get for $29. I was disappointed they do not serve baked potatoes. I ordered a salad with blue cheese and the waitress came back to tell me, oops no we don't have blue cheese or my second or third choices which were ranch or French. Oh and they do serve complimentary bread but that was hard and tasteless. Sorry, I know this is full of complaints, but I really was disappointed. I know they just opened so maybe the menu will improve?!

Meh. We were really excited about this place! Sadly, we were disappointed. A little context: we are 30something, DINKS, who enjoy nice wine + good steaks, and aren't afraid to drop some money on a really nice dinner. I liked the ambiance and feel of this place, but our waiter was lukewarm at best. He did not offer any specials without prodding, and was under-educated on the menu. We started off with the Ahi tuna, which was more guacamole than tuna (very strange--not sure why they are dousing their tuna with guacamole). The lobster bisque was delicious (me), but the hubs's filet chili was mediocre at best despite being the only dish the waiter seemed excited about. We then shared the big steak, which the waiter assured would be enough for 2. Despite the hefty pricetag, it was definitely not enough for 2 (and I wasn't even that hungry post-app, soup, and vino!). and we have had better steaks at our other favorite places (Ruth's Chris/Capital Grille/Roast). I think if we come back, it would be for drinks on the patio in the summer. DInner was overpriced, and the service left something to be desired. Take your fancy pants dinners elsewhere!

I came here for happy hour two months ago, and really like it so i thought i would come here for dinner and give it a try. Overall, this place over promises and under delivers, the food is overpriced and service is just so so. I don't like it when i get pressed to order an appetizer immediately when i haven't even looked at the menu! And they haven't even brought me a drink yet. I was not impressed with the drinks, I order the Hendricks punch, not a good choice but for $ 12 bucks i should have sent it back. Way overpriced! Our waiter kept re arranging things on our table, which was annoying and odd. It seemed like his timing was off, whenever we needed him he was not around and when we didn't need him he was there annoying us. He also kept calling my date "young lady", not appropriate , she is 50 years old! We split a salad of Tomato and Mozzeralla with balsamic, the tomatoes were not very flavorful and there was very little actual mozzerella. Almost no basil. My Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly, but the steak was rather bland tasting no seasoning on it, I have cooked more flavorful steaks on my grill, and before i had even had a chance to cut into my steak a "Burl Ives" look alike (manager maybe, dont know because he didnt introduce himself) came by and asked me if my food was to my liking?? Bad timing. The side dishes of hash browns and asparagus were ok, but nothing to get excited about. I will come back here for happy hour but not for dinner, not worth the price and service is poor, you get better service in the bar area.

  • Chris O.

The food was incredible. I highly suggest the truffle fries and mac n' cheese as sides with the main entree and you must get the jalapeño calamari. Don't forget to get the fried Oreos at the end, delicious!!! The only reasons this place gets 4 stars is because the lobster bisque was fishy tasting and the au gratin potatoes were terrible (which the manager agreed with me and assured me they are replacing the recipe). Otherwise great experience!

I'm not a big fan of steakhouse restaurants (I'm a chicken girl and most steak places have limited chicken dishes), but my husband really wanted to try the food. I decided to order a filet (spice up my life a bit) and OMG it was unbelievable. I do eat steak every other month so I do have something to compare it too. It was mouth watering tender deliciousness. Their zip sauce is soooo good. We also had a several appetizer that also didn't disappoint. My husband who is on a diet got salmon and said it was terrific. I was way to full so I didn't get to try the oreo dessert but I'm definitely going back to try them and get the steak again. The prices are on the high side but you get what you pay for IMO. Also the waitress was wonderful, not too annoying yet on top of everything. My water was always full Which is something that annoys me if I have to wait forever for water. Nice job prime 29.

Love this place! We went here with a group of 6. Everything was great from my Pom 29 Martini, Oysters, Lobster tail, deep fried Oreos with an espresso. Next time, I'm going for the steak. I had a taste of my friends Filet Mignon andnit was heaven.

This was our first visit. We wanted good steaks, good wine and a patio. Prime 29 is nearby, but we have never visited because the patio fronts Maple Road and we were worried about road noise. Road noise is not a problem. They play an easy listening selection at a volume low enough to allow conversation without straining, and just loud enough that the road noise is not particularly noticeable/objectionable. We arrived without a reservation at 6PM and were seated promptly. Our waiter was excellent; prompt, knowledgeable and attentive. He did not write down our order; which always makes me worry ... more on this later. We shared the calamari appetizer - a generous portion and expertly prepared. Among the best I have ever eaten. We also shared a Village salad - Croutons, tomato, croutons, cucumber, croutons, red onion, croutons, ricotta & croutons. Croutons dominate this salad. I would not order again. We both ordered 8 oz filets, medium rare and split an order of green beans. One steak arrived medium, the other was was medium well. The waiter offered (insisted) on re-doing both steaks. We had other plans for the evening and simply did not have time to accommodate a redux. The filets themselves were excellent pieces of meat and nicely seasoned. The green beans were fresh and thankfully, not overcooked ... but the portion size (for one) was a bit stingy for $9. Who screwed-up both steaks? Dunno. Not writing down an order always bugs me. Perhaps the waiter entered our order incorrectly. Perhaps the kitchen screwed-up. No paper trail. Our schedule could not accommodate them fixing the problem. Without me asking or fussing, Prime 29 did comp our two glasses of wine. Thank you. Before tip and without the two glasses of wine: $116. Their WiFi network: Do NOT use. It is NOT safe for customers, inspite of being "encrypted." CCW friendly (if you are not drinking). The website ... autoplays music. Arrrrgh. I am marking Prime 29 down (only) 1-star due the two steak problems, the unanticipated nature of the crouton salad and the somewhat stingy portion of green beans Had they not offered to comp the wine, I would've marked them down 2-stars. Will I return? Yes. I want to give them another chance at a defect-free dining experience.

I came here for dinner on Saturday with 15 other girls for a bachelorette party. The service was amazing, fast, courteous and professional... For dinner I had the hamburger with the side appetizer of crab cakes... the price is very affordable and the staff did not have a problem separating dinner tab from drink tab. They let us pay the bill with cash and credit card... it made it very convenient for the girls that did not have cash on them. I highly recommend this restaurant for excellent food, service and professionalism. I will definitely return for more dinners here.

Just sayin.

Both food and service are top notch. I couldn't say that when they first opened but after we gave them a second chance, the food was great. We've been back many times (happy hour is a bargain with a nice selection) and have never had a bad meal. We find it much better and more personable than what the chain steakhouse restaurants offer.

Prime 29 is a jewel in our area. The food, ambiance, and service are fabulous. Every course is mouth watering. For anytime or special occasions it is my go to place!

Service is excellent, I ordered the 16 oz ribeye steak, the best steak I've ever had. A bit pricey but it's worth every penny. The atmosphere is perfect for a date or a group. Don't forget to tip ! Haha

This time for a girls night out since I have been telling all of my friends about our experience they all want to try it out as well. . Can't wait.

it's ok but not somewhere hooks you with its food. we went there for out house moving party and ordered pretty much every entree and side. their steak is average and the saw fish was cold in the middle since it wasn't defrosted enough. service is good but very slow. for the price, there are better choice with more creative style and farm/organic food.

I have to say I was blown away by Prime29! The decor and interior design is sleek and sexy! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable! And it was great to have a someone come by with every course to make sure we had fresh utensils! We ordered several appetizers! Love love love the oyster rockefellars which were amazing. The lobster bisque to die for. And yes. I got the burger!!!!! It's hands down the best burger ever!!!! Now I tried the steak and lobster as well and I was definitely impressed!!! Bravo Prime29!!! You guys rock! We will most definitely be back very soon!!!

Enjoy!

Oysters Rockefeller weren't good, Caesar salad was poor, steak was decent, sides were good. Many better steakhouses in the area in this price range. Very over-priced for only an ok meal/experience.

Can't go wrong with some of their plates. Will frequently. Steaks are cooked to perfection and the tuna appetizer is one of a kind.

Great steaks and stiff drinks. What more can you ask for? Whenever I'm on that side of town, it's a must stop! Try it, you won't regret it.

Place is amazing and they serve Halal steaks and burgers for an extra 5 bucks. Super expensive but very nice for an occasion. Will be back soon when I replenish my bank account. Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and great service, this place is a winner.
